Hugo: Finding a rare truth in the cold and absurd

Hugo is not like those heroes who lead the way, nor like those strong men who can easily conquer everything. He is cold, hard as ice, but with a little tenderness. In battle, he is not always a good guy, nor a bad guy, but just a guy who seals his heart with ice and snow. It is very much like myself who always reads books late at night-some people can’t explain why they are always silent, just because silence is sometimes more real than speaking.

And Hugo is such a character. He doesn’t really care about the world, but his emotions are sometimes too complicated and heavy, so that he would rather use frost and calmness to cover up his fragility and hide the heart that will never be known. But even so, he is still a hero full of absurdity, that cold warrior, who seems to be constantly trying to make a voice to the world-no matter what the voice is.

His special weapon: the coldness of ice and snow, never compromise
Hugo’s special weapon typically shows the heroic temperament of “strength first”, but he is not the kind of character who directly conquers everything with strength. Those critical damage, increased ice attribute damage, and the exponential increase in critical damage sound like the standard of a strong man, but in fact, Hugo did not show the heroism of the traditional hero – he did not carry glory and honor from the beginning, but was a wanderer like a street alley, hiding in the darkness, unable to get close, and unable to stay away.

He used these special weapon skills to shape himself into an icy sword, with no honor or excessive symbols engraved on the sword. Every attack of his is simple and pure violence, but behind every violence is the unspeakable pain in his heart. The increase in critical damage seems to be a direct response to his anger at the unfairness of the world, and every powerful attack of the ice attribute is his determination that he is unwilling to reveal – he will continue to fight until the world ends.

Normal attack: simple and absurd power
Hugo’s normal attack seems simple but full of absurdity. The four-stage attack is like every step in his ordinary life. Every seemingly insignificant detail is accumulating future power. The charging shot after the fourth attack is a manifestation of his coldness and silence. Can you imagine a person standing on a cold field, facing a hostile world, but he always remains silent, just accumulating that power one by one, like the power of the wilderness that will eventually be released-however, this power of the wilderness is not for attack, but for finding a kind of relief, a sense of existence that belongs to oneself.

Every accumulation of energy is the accumulation of Hugo’s own loneliness. Every shot, every attack, is his response to his cognition of the world. He does not fight for killing, but to make himself more real. The ice attribute damage brought by the attack is not only oppression to the enemy, but also an expression of his inner contradiction: in this cold world, he still has a warmth that cannot be ignored.

Dodge and counterattack: the hidden challenge in escape
“Dodge” is Hugo’s most self-deprecating skill. Unlike those heroes, he did not move forward at a high speed at the beginning. He just chose the most direct escape. After dodging, he still looked at the enemy calmly, as if all attacks had nothing to do with him. But he would always choose to counterattack at that moment, as if it was a kind of relief from his predicament, and also like a small resistance to his inner contradictions.

The invincible effect when dodging seems to be his complete denial of this world. He has never really entered this world and has always been wandering outside. Every dodge is an escape from self-cognition, and every counterattack is a challenge to the absurd fate in his heart. Every successful dodge is his silent protest to this world, as if saying: “Do you think I dare not fight back? You are wrong, I will fight back against this world in the most cruel way.”

Special skills and enhanced special skills: hidden pain behind the cold
Hugo’s special skills seem simple but have a deep sense of fate. Two slashes, every swing of the knife is full of depression and pain. You can’t see any struggle in his calm expression, but behind the cold slash, there are unspeakable emotions deep in his heart. The appearance of the enhanced special skills seems to be a challenge to his fate. The rotating sickle carries powerful ice damage, but every bit of power in it carries his deep doubts about his own existence.

Every time the enhanced special skills are launched, it is like a salvation for his own anxiety. Hugo did not show the temperament of a great hero. Instead, he was more like a young man who was confused about the world. Facing a strong enemy, he did not always choose to face it directly, but used that indifferent way to force himself into a state that no longer needed to be explained-in this state, he did not need to ask why, nor did he need to defend himself. The powerful power of ice and snow is his way out of trouble and the relief from his heart.

Linkage and finishing skills: silent cooperation and despair between people
Hugo’s linkage and finishing skills are full of absurdity and profound meaning. In the combo, the tacit cooperation between him and his teammates is like the brief intersection of two lonely hearts; and the finishing move is his final judgment on the fate of the enemy. Every time the finishing move is launched, the sickle rotates, not with glory, but with a kind of inescapable fate. The enemy will eventually disappear in the ice and snow, but Hugo himself cannot escape this cruel fate.

The huge slash of the combo and the final judgment of the finishing move seem to be telling a silent story: even in the world of ice and snow, the connection between people is still inevitable. In the end, Hugo walked towards the end he set with that coldness. He didn’t want to change the world, because he knew that this world, like himself, could not be redeemed.

Imagery: Every trigger is the most real farewell in the heart
Hugo’s imagery is like a mirror, reflecting the complex emotions in his deepest heart. In this seemingly absurd world, every trigger is a reflection of the pain he can’t let go of in his heart. Every appearance of “final settlement” is his ultimate challenge to his uneasy fate, and every “absorption” is his silent farewell to his existence.
